The Alpha 7R integrated amplifier is the entry level model in Arcam’s Alpha range of integrated amplifiers. It sounds excellent and can faithfully reproduce the wide dynamics of the original recording, whilst simultaneously revealing the subtle details in the performance.
Building on the considerable strengths of Arcam’s previous Alpha amplifiers, which had been UK market leaders for many years – the affordable Alpha 7R is the new class leader in terms of sound quality, flexibility, reliability and good looks.
A heavy duty toroidal power transformer gives the Alpha 7R a continuous power output of 40 watts per channel into 8 ohms, with peak outputs of some 80 watts per channel into 4 ohm loudspeakers – ensuring the integrity of the sound at both normal listening levels and the highest volumes.
The Alpha 7 amplifier is also quite versatile. Two sets of speaker outputs, one direct and the second switchable, plus a headphones socket, are included as standard. It comes with a basic remote to control the volume. And with the capacity to accept up to six sources, including a MM phono cartridge, plus a tape output and pre-amp output – you have the ability to expand and upgrade your system for years to come.
In short, this “budget audiophile” amplifier is an excellent choice for almost any domestic hi-fi system.
